My first yoga class ~
I took my first yoga class when I was about 17, I was training as a classical ballerina and I remember being very excited when I got to the studio that day for class. It was my favorite day of the week because my favorite tiny Russian male ballet teacher was teaching. He walked into the classroom and asked us to remove our ballet slippers. A bit surprised, the other students and I obliged. He asked us to step away from the barres on the wall and come center.
"close your eyes" he said, "and take a deep breath in...and exhale" - and thus he lead me through my first yoga practice and I fell in love with it right then and there.
The rest is history ~
It wasn't until after I really "retired" from ballet as well as teaching it, and after my son (third child) was born, that I really rekindled a love for yoga again. I dabbled with yoga while dancing, but fell in love with it almost 13 years ago. A year into consistently practicing, I decided to get my 200hr yoga teaching certification and the rest is history. I've continued with trainings to acquire pre/post-natal certifications along with an aerial teaching certification.
I've been teaching yoga for over 11 years now - I took almost a year off at the end of 2023, because I needed to practice what I preach and hold space for myself to heal and rebuild from the challenges life can sometimes throw, but I still practiced.
My mat has always been my safe place. A place for me to move and breath and feel in whatever capacity that means. I see myself more clearly when I'm on it. It's a mirror into the deepest depths of my soul. My yoga mat isn't the stage I was used to as a ballerina where I had to perform, but more a shelter where I could just be.
And then there was 3...
I had a vision early on in my teaching days of wanting to lead international yoga retreats. I loved the idea of traveling and seeing the world and the beauty beyond the United States. I wanted to experience culture and food. Marvel at architecture and art. Find beauty in nature and parts of the world not found here at home.
Greece, Italy, and Iceland were the 3 "must do" countries for me in no particular order.
I doubted my ability to do it, but the year my ex-husband and I filed for divorce was the year I decided to "JUMP" If I could go through something as hard and difficult as a divorce, than surely I could do something as scary as a planning, coordinating and pulling off a yoga retreat.
In 2019, Tuscany, Italy. is where I planned this first adventure and it SOLD OUT!
I did it again in 2023, amidst a horrible break up, but off to Akureryi, Iceland we went, and it SOLD OUT again.
And here I am - 2025 planning a Greece retreat for June of 2026 and ALL ARE WELCOME!
NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED ~
I've made it my mission to plan yoga retreats that are accessible to everyone - whether you've practiced yoga before or not. And news flash - the YOGA IS OPTIONAL on my retreats. Both retreats I have led, have had a handful of attendees that came and never once rolled out a yoga mat - but came to relax, find peace, find quiet, sight-see, explore, and admire a land far away from their reality for a week - and that to me is just as much of a gift as the yoga practice can be.
Yoga simply becomes the vehicle for whatever experience you are seeking.
Life is short, buy the ticket ~
Registration is now open and all are welcome. A 7 night, all-inclusive (minus airfare) trip of a lifetime is waiting for you. All the details are here: Yoga In Greece ~ June 2026
I hope you jump with me and join me on this beautiful Greek Island adventure. You will never regret money spent on travel. Experiences and memories made are the best gifts that can never be taken away - travel will change you forever.
Lovin' you
